As the “Tis the Season” approaches, we are sharing exciting news about upcoming events that celebrates the vibrant spirit of our community. As we embrace the 2023 Holiday’s, I am delighted to share details about the upcoming festivities going on in our local community!

Thursday, November 16 from 5:30 -7:30 pm   If you have never attended Wildcat Wonderland, you are missing a treat. This FREE event is in its 7th year of providing joy to our community. Pearl River Community College provides a family fun event.

Friends of Poplarville Library – Since November 6th checkout books at Poplarville Public Library to WIN a “Thankful Basket”!   Each time you check out books you will be given a raffle ticket to fill out for a chance to win the Thankful Basket!  Winner will be announced on Friday, November 17th before Thanksgiving!    Good luck!

Saturday, December 2, 2023 – 9 am – 3 pm –  2nd Annual Christmas Market @ River Road Mercantile @  410 Larkin I Smith Drive Poplarville  –   Join in the fun as you shop and pick up items for your list!

Saturday, December 2, 2023  – 4 pm – 8 pm Christmas At The Park !   Photo’s with Santa, Soup Cook off – Face Painting, Music, Hot Chocolate, Fun Jumper, Letters to Santa & Smores!  Donations are welcome.

Christmas Parade Friday, December 15, 2023 @ 5 pm – Join us for a fun filled weekend kicking off with our Christmas parade and our Grand Marshall Santa Clause.  Hang around after the parade on Friday for pictures on the Town Green!

Christmas on Main- A Jolly Jubilee – December 16, 2023 from 10 am – 6 pm on the Town Green!  Featuring a hot cocoa stand, holiday treats and holiday themed activities (s’mores, ornament decorating, wagon ridge & many more surprises)!   Chili Cook Off Winner to be determined!

Congratulations to all the Award recipients at the Poplarville Area Chamber of Commerce banquet.  Awards were given to Officer Jeremy Blair as Policeman of the Year, Cameron Ladner, as Firefighter of the Year, Donald Williams as Public Works Employee of the Year, Marnie Tyner Ready as City Hall worker of the year, Lily’s Culinary Treats – Lily Phares as Future Leader of the Year, Rhonda Thames Hariel, Legacy Award, Katrina Lewis Mizell as Volunteer of the Year and April Grecho as Citizen of the Year.  Door prizes from Main Street Coffee Co., Electric Café, Lenora & Company LLC, BankPlus and Vintage Garden Florist and Gifts were a big hit.
