South Mississippi Welcome’s Fall 2023 and the many local activities planned to enjoy in our hometown community in Pearl River County, MS.

Tuesday, October 10, 2023 – 6:00 – 8:00 pm Celebrate the life of Jimmy Buffet on the Town Green. City of Poplarville, PRCC & The Chamber will join together on Town Green.  Jimmy lived in Poplarville & attended PRCC.  Local musicians will perform Jimmy’s songs.

Just south of us in Picayune MS, on Saturday, October 14, 2023 — Fall Music Festival in Downtown Picayune, MS – Plan to wear comfortable shoes for shopping & dancing on October 14th in downtown Picayune, MS. Enjoy shopping & dining in the Picayune unique shops & restaurants. A Maker’s Market featuring several local Artist’s from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm along with Live Music starting at 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm highlighting popular Regional Bands Playing Easy Listening, Jazz, Blues, Country, Pop and Rock Guaranteed to Please All Ages. Admission is FREE – A Picayune Main Street, Inc. Event

Saturday, October 14, 2023 – Poplarville, MS – Plants & Flower tips – Check out the Barnyard Marketplace 295 Buck Kirkland Rd, Poplarville, MS from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Have a gardening question? Plan to stop by.

Tuesday, October 17, 2023 – PRC Master Gardener Garden Talk Tuesday will be hosted on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. to openly discuss Horticulture Topics. Contact Roxann Gort to RSVP 601-403-2280. Limited seating.

Saturday, October 21, 2023 – Junior Master Gardener @ Poplarville City Park. Get in on the fun of learning how to do a “no dig” garden for your home or business. Bring your gloves & join in the fun at the Park!

Friday, October 27, 2023 – Mark your calendars and join us for the very 1st BOOberry Fall Festival, hosted by The Poplarville Area Chamber of Commerce. (This is a ticketed event) Two evenings of excitement await! On October 27, head to Town Green at 5 PM for the Farm to Fork Picnic, featuring live music, a scavenger hunt, sidewalk sales plus a delightful outdoor dining experience. Bring your picnic blanket and basket. Picnic tables will be set up.

Saturday, October 28, 2023 – Then, on October 28, Main Street Coffee Co will host a BooBerry Bake-Off at 2:00 PM – $20 to register. Forms @ coffee shop. Followed by the charming BOOberry Golf Cart & Bicycle Parade at 4:30 PM. The highlight is the BOOberry Festival from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, offering activities like a picturesque pumpkin patch, pumpkin pie eating contest, cupcake walk, face painting, costume contest, treasure chest, and more. Let us celebrate the wonderful fall season together!

Tuesday, October 31, 2023 – 3:30 – 5:00 – Merchant’s Trick or Treat 3:30 – 5:00 pm. For those businesses not located on Main Street you are reminded to set up on the Town Green.
