One of the most anticipated events this March is the annual rodeo hosted by Pearl River Community College. March 21-23, 2024 at the Pearl River County Fairgrounds Arena in Poplarville, this event promises thrilling entertainment for all ages. With gates opening at 7 p.m., attendees can look forward to a variety of rodeo activities, including bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, and more.
General admission is $10, but children 10 and under can enjoy the event for free, as can PRCC faculty, staff, and students with a valid school ID. This gathering isn’t just about the excitement of the rodeo; it’s a celebration of our community’s spirit and the talents of over 300 contestants from various schools.

First Baptist Poplarville is hosting a wonderful hunt at the Poplarville City Park on Saturday, March 23, from 9-10 am. Lots of eggs, food, games, petting zoo, crafts and more!

From educational scholarships to groundbreaking healthcare advancements, Pearl River County is a place where innovation and community spirit thrive. The Henleyfield Community, Inc. (HCI), for instance, has announced a significant scholarship opportunity, further emphasizing our community’s investment in the future of our youth. This $2000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating high school senior or home schooled student whose home residence is within the Henleyfield Community boundaries.
