Exciting Events on the Horizon

One of the most anticipated events this March is the annual rodeo hosted by Pearl River Community College. March 21-23, 2024 at the Pearl River County Fairgrounds Arena in Poplarville, this event promises thrilling entertainment for all ages. With gates opening at 7 p.m., attendees can look forward to a variety of rodeo activities, including bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, and more.

General admission is $10, but children 10 and under can enjoy the event for free, as can PRCC faculty, staff, and students with a valid school ID. This gathering isn’t just about the excitement of the rodeo; it’s a celebration of our community’s spirit and the talents of over 300 contestants from various schools.

First Baptist Poplarville is hosting a wonderful hunt at the Poplarville City Park on Saturday, March 23, from 9-10 am.  Lots of eggs, food, games, petting zoo, crafts and more!

Our community’s heartbeat is its people and the initiatives that bring us together. From educational scholarships to groundbreaking healthcare advancements, Pearl River County is a place where innovation and community spirit thrive. The Henleyfield Community, Inc. (HCI), for instance, has announced a significant scholarship opportunity, further emphasizing our community’s investment in the future of our youth. This $2000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating high school senior or home schooled student whose home residence is within the Henleyfield Community boundaries.
